Extractions

Why extract teeth?

Your teeth are the strongest substance in your body. They can withstand a substantial amount of daily wear and tear. But despite their strength, they are not indestructible. Issues like physical damage and decay to your teeth can compromise their strength and your oral health. While most damaged teeth can be restored, this is not always possible. If the affected tooth is too badly damaged, it may be beyond repair. As a result, tooth extraction becomes necessary.

What to expect

There are two types of tooth extractions, simple and surgical. Simple tooth extraction is a straightforward procedure. It is performed under a local anesthetic, which helps to ensure that you do not feel any discomfort during the procedure.

A surgical tooth extraction is necessary for more complex situations. These include situations such as a broken tooth or an impacted wisdom tooth. This procedure is done under a local anesthetic. Sedation may also be provided to help you relax and feel comfortable.
